As it stands right now, we are down to only three teams left in the 2019 Division III College Baseball World Series.

I watched very little baseball on Sunday, but I did create a number of gifs to get the UMass Beacons hyped, so that was fun. Their social media presence has me rooting for them to win it all.
As I am writing this, I think it is safe to assume that Johns Hopkins is on their way out of the tournament. They are losing by 10 to Birmingham Southern after 7 innings.
We started the day off with an elimination game. Chapman sent Washington & Jefferson home with an 8-4 victory – earning themselves a game later in the day against UMass Boston.
Our next elimination game was Johns Hopkins vs Babson. This game went to extras, and I loved the fight the Babson Beavers showed throughout this tournament, but they just didn’t have another comeback in them.
In the afternoon game it was UMass Boston in a rematch against Chapman. If Chapman were to lose they would be eliminated. With a victory they would play UMass Boston the next day. The first matchup between the two teams looked a little bit like this:
But as it turns out it was more like this on Sunday:
The Panthers won their second game of the day 8-4, forcing a winner goes to the Championship Series game Monday morning.
The evening game is still going, although it is now 15-4. That will eliminate Johns Hopkins. Birmingham Southern will play the winner of the Chapman vs UMass Boston game in the 3-game Championship Series.
Here is what the bracket looks like heading into Day 4:
The schedule currently shows that the Chapman vs UMass Boston game will be at 10AM on Monday. I am unsure if this means there will be a second game in the day or not. My assumption is that the winner will play in the afternoon, and there will be a double header if necessary the following day.
It is time once again to make our predictions for tomorrow. None of us have any idea what we are talking about – so here it is:
|Buzz||UMass Boston – I am a firm believer that Cedar Rapids is now Beaconville. UMass Boston moves on to the Championship series.|
|Chamby||Chapman – Roll Panthers.|
The NCAA website doesn’t really say when the Championship Series will start. Birmingham Southern is sitting pretty – and whoever they face will be running out of pitching.
